Former Giants defensive end Michael Strahan got some early work in on his April Fools’ joke.
Strahan shared on his Twitter account Tuesday showing him getting a procedure done to have the gap removed from his teeth at a cosmetic dentistry business in New York City.
However, in a video Strahan posted Thursday, Strahan said the whole thing was just a prank.
“I just wanted to say April Fools’,” Strahan said while smiling, revealing that he still had the gap. “Come on, man. The gap is here to stay for a little while. It’s not going anywhere anytime soon. So April Fools’ everybody.”

Strahan said he was surprised at how many people reached out to him, asking him not to get rid of the gap because it was his signature. Strahan said he also heard from other people who had gaps in their teeth, saying that Strahan used to make them feel comfortable with the gap that they had in their teeth.
However, Strahan said he had one person who told him not ever to get rid of it.
“I feel really bad about actually not closing it after everything that I saw,” Strahan said. “But the gap is here. The gap is not going anywhere for a while. My mama likes it, so there you go. It’s for you Mama.”
