Emotional Matthew Perry on the verge of tears in 'Friends' trailer - Page Six

That’s what friends are for.

An emotional Matthew Perry was comforted by “Friends” co-star Jennifer Aniston in a new trailer for the highly anticipated HBO Max reunion.

Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the iconic NBC series, is seen reminiscing on set and admitted, “I’m going to cry now,” with Aniston putting her hand on his shoulder.

An episode of the sitcom focused on Perry’s character and his inability to cry.

One of Perry’s recent appearances promoting the show sparked concern Wednesday from fans. The 51-year-old actor appeared to slur his words in a clip posted Wednesday to People magazine’s website. In the concerning clip, Perry was talking about taking pieces from the set as souvenirs.

“I stole the cookie jar that had the clock on it,” Perry said, with a “sh” appearing to be pronounced at the beginning of the phrase.

One fan replied to the clip, “It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this, he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly.”

“Just saw People interview and can’t believe how Matthew Perry looks like… seriously it breaks my heart,” another tweeted.

The star has long been open about his struggles with addiction.

The “Friends” reunion, which was taped in April, is set to premiere on HBO Max next week. In addition to Perry and Aniston, 52, who played Rachel Green on the sitcom, series veterans David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow are all returning.

Additionally, David Beckham, Justin Bieber, and Reese Witherspoon are slated to guest star, with James Corden’s involvement drawing ire from fans.

“James Corden adding the ‘Friends’ reunion to the list of things he’s ruined with his mere presence,” one fan tweeted.

Another user added, “Don’t get me wrong I’ve been wanting a ‘Friends’ reunion since 2004 but if someone told me James Corden would be in it I’d have told them not to bother.”

Adblock test (Why?)
