Lil Nas X Shares Video for New Song “Sun Goes Down”: Watch
Two months after releasing his hit single “MONTERO (Call Me by Your Name),” Lil Nas X is back with another track. It’s called “Sun Goes Down,” and it arrives with a music video in which Lil Nas X goes back to 2017 to comfort his high school self. Lil Nas X’s father, R. L. Stafford, makes a cameo in the visual, too. Watch below.
“Sun Goes Down” is produced by Take A Daytrip, Omer Fedi, and Roy Lonzo. Lil Nas X co-directed the video with Psycho Films.
“MONTERO” took the world by storm upon its release in March of this year. The reaction was largely due to its over-the-top music video, which culminated with Lil Nas X twerking on Satan (who also resembled Lil Nas X) before overtaking his throne.
The visual also featured Lil Nas X pole dancing in a manner that was compared to the choreography in FKA twigs’ “cellophane” clip. FKA twigs later thanked Lil Nas X for discussing those similarities with her. Tomorrow, Lil Nas X will act as musical guest on Saturday Night Live.
