Andy Cohen and Cynthia Bailey are “heartbroken” over the news of NeNe Leakes’ husband, Gregg Leakes, passing away.
The “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” host called Gregg a “wonderful man” on Twitter shortly after the news broke on Wednesday.
“I jokingly called him ‘Pastor Leakes’ but in truth he was a strong voice of reason & commanded great respect among the entire #RHOA team. I am sending love and strength to @neneleakes & the entire Leakes family,” he wrote.
Bailey, who co-starred on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” with NeNe, wrote, “So many good times & so many amazing memories. Gregg was always so loving, funny & kind. So blessed to have had him in my life. Sending my heartfelt condolences to @NeNeLeakes and her family. Thinking of you & my heart and prayers are with you.”
Gregg died of colon cancer Wednesday, his publicist confirmed.
“Today, the Leakes family is in deep pain with a broken heart. After a long battle with cancer, Gregg Leakes has passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by all of his children, very close loved ones and wife NeNe Leakes,” the couple’s rep said in a press release.
The statement continued, “We ask that you pray for peace and strength over their family and allow them to mourn in private during this very, very difficult time.”
Wife NeNe revealed over the weekend that Gregg was in the process of “transitioning to the other side,” receiving an outpour of support from several other Bravolebrities.
“Praying for Gregg, @neneleakes and their family,” Kenya Moore wrote on her Instagram Story Monday. “Even through all our ups and downs, Gregg never treated me differently-he was always kind and respectful.”
“Praying for you and your family,” Kim Zolciak wrote, adding, “Sending you lots of love.”
“Praying for you all during thus [sic] difficult time,” Porsha Williams commented.
