Actress Robyn Griggs has died after battling cervical cancer. She was 49.
Best known for her recurring roles in the soap operas "One Life to Live" and "Another World," Griggs mostly stayed out of the spotlight after her television stints and instead appeared in independent horror films.
An announcement of her passing was posted to Facebook Saturday through a friend managing her social media account.
"With a heavy heart, I am saddened to announce Robyn’s passing," the statement said. "However, she is no longer suffering and would want us to remember that and the good memories."

"I will never forget how open she was to telling her story, and accepting of me helping her tell it. She wanted to help people and spread the word of her story to do it. I was honored to do so. RIP my friend, I love you and smile when I think of you."
On Thursday evening, her father confirmed on Facebook that Robyn would enter hospice care "today or tomorrow."

"She has fought with determination, strength, and grace that is nothing short of inspirational. Please continue keep Robyn and her family in your thoughts and prayers at this difficult time," the post said.
Griggs shared with her social media followers last month that she had been diagnosed with four new tumors, which included "two new tumors on my liver, one on abdominal muscle and large one on right side lymph node."
The Pennsylvania native was diagnosed with stage 4 endocervical adeno cancer in 2020.
Before her soap opera success, Griggs appeared on Nickelodeon’s "Rated K" from 1986-88, a show which featured youth reviews of films.
